What if you're making me, all that I was meant to be?

Since we've been talking about schmaltzy music the past few posts (HERE and HERE), I of course stumbled upon one of my ultimate guilty pleasures with a new song, that is syrupy sweet, stirred by strings and pretty much perfect for running at the end of some Hollywood blockbuster over the credits.

Here's my Irish not-so-boy-band-anymore Westlife, asking, plaintively, What About Now?

Not a bad tune all in all!

I probably need to think about posting something cooler now, like say the kick-ass new trailers for the trippy Alice in Wonderland or Ironman 2.

Hmmmm. Maybe tomorrow.

You and I, we've been at it so long...

Westlife are back to form again with their brilliant new single, Us Against The World. It was released in the UK today.

Years of tepid covers had made me skeptical of their place at the top of my guilty pleasures list. But just as hope was extinguishing, the boys from Ireland have come through with yet another cotton candy confection that simply makes me smile.

I may suddenly need to track down the new album...
