I run, I run, I run with the unconsoled.

While the new Scissor Sisters may have the iPod real estate in my car right now, it may serve to remind you about my new-band crush that I've been developing this year.

Still teasing their new, as yet unreleased, album Red Brick Heart, Manchester's Performance have completely enraptured me with their first two singles Reptile and The Living.

Well, they're three for three now, because their new clip, The Unconsoled, is just as brilliant.

Bring on the album. It's about time for it.

This is serious. This is serious.

You may remember me raving about Performance, a British electro band last fall.

Since then their single Reptile (which for now you can still get for free here) has firmly found its place on the repeat button.

Luckily enough the trickle continues and they have a new song floating around the web.

The Living

Again. Pretty nifty.

I'm definitely piqued to see where this leads.

I'm gonna lose control 'cause you're a reptile, baby.

I can't say I'm not enjoying the rebirth of 80's-tinged electrop pop these days. You can hear it everywhere, and it suits my fancy.

So, of course you'll be getting new bands rediscovering the sounds of the early video era, and while some of it is just tired retreads, there is plenty of fresh exuberance coming out from some of the newer players now jumping on the bandwagon.

Case in point: Performance, a semi-new outfit out of Manchester, England.

Their new video for Reptile is brilliant, and the rest of their tracks on myspace are also pretty darned good!

Thanks to Electroqueer for the heads up on this. Looks like Performance is a name to look out for in 2010!
